About Islamabad Police:
In accordance with Presidential Order Nos. 17 and 18, 1980, the Islamabad Capital Territory Police was established on January 1st, 1981. ICT Police aspires to satisfy the demand for a separate police force in Islamabad, the nation's capital, in order to uphold the rule of law, safeguard property, and prevent civil unrest. Establishment
The Central Police Office (CPO), which has five sections including Operations, Security, Law & Order, Safe City, and Logistic, oversees the Islamabad Police. ICT Police has a total authorized strength of 12,514. Inspector General of Police (IGP), a senior official in the Pakistani Police Service, is the title given to the commander of the ICT Police (PSP). Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman is the ICT Police's current commander. Mr. Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman is a seasoned police officer with extensive background in staff assignments, including human resource development and financial administration, in addition to field duty.
He also has extensive experience working on various tasks across the globe. By using creative measures to convert conventional police stations into e-powered Model Police Stations, Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman has played a crucial role in police reform. In contrast to Islamabad Model Traffic Police, which is led by a senior superintendent of police, and Information Technology Branch, which is led by a director of information technology, each division of the ICT Police is overseen by a Deputy Inspector General of Police and managed by a Senior Superintendent of Police. Another specialist organization is Special Branch, which is supervised by the Assistant Inspector General of Police. The unusual organization known as Safe City is run by Directors and is led by a Director General. There are 22 police stations located in the Federal Capital of Islamabad.
